An ordinance amending the Zoning Code, Chapters 60 to 64 inclusive,- of the Saint Paul Legislative Code, pertaining to Use Districts, Height Districts and Rezoning of certain proper- ties in the City of Saint Paul, as_,- amended. This is an emergency ordinance rendered necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health, and safety. THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAINT PAUL DOES ORDAIN: 226160 Section 1. That the Zoning Code, Chapters 60 to 64 inclusive, of the Saint Paul Legislative Code, pertaining to Use Districts, Height Districts, and Rezoning of certain properties in the City of Saint Paul, as amended, be and the same is hereby further amended so as to rezone the following described property from Commercial & "B" Residence District to Light Industrial District, to -wit: The east side of State Street between Tennessee & Kentucky Streets, described as Lots 1 through 6, Block 10, Town of Brooklynd and Lots 7 through 12, Block 10, Town of Brooklynd, including vacated alleys & Tennessee Street& Fenton Street accruing to Lots 1 through 6 & 7 through 12 of said Block 10. Section 2. This ordinance is hereby declared'to be an emergency ordinance rendered necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health, and safety. Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force upon its passage, approval, and publication. PETITION TO REZONE A petition having been filed request- ing that Chapters 60 to 64 inclusive, St. Paul Legislative Code, re Zoning, etc., be amended so as to rezone prop- erty described as Lots 1 through 12, Block 10, Town of Brooklynd, being property north of Kentucky between State St. and Fenton *Ave., to t Industry District, the Council of the City of. Saint Paul has fixed the 2nd day of December, 1965, at ten o'clock in the forenoon in the Council Cham- ber in the City Hall of said City, and at said time, the Council will hear all persons and all objections and recom- mendations relative to said proposed amendment. Gerber, Jr. City Clerk Building Dear Sir: This is written in response to the petition of the Port Authority to rezone from Commercial & "B" residence district to Light Industrial district certain property located on the east side of State Street between Tennessee 6 Kentucky Streets. The property is described as Lots 1 through 6, Block 10, Town of Brooklynd and Lots 7 through 12, Block 10, Town of Brooklynd, including vacated alleys 6 Tennessee Street 6 Fenton Street accruing to Lots 1 through 6 & 7 through 12 of said Block 10. On October 15, 1965, the Commissioner of Finance reported the petition sufficient in that the owner's of 14 of a possible 15 (93.33 %) tracts of land lying within the prescribed 100 foot radius of subject property having signed the petition. This property is part-of-the'. Port Authority's large project known as Riverview Industrial Park. The site under consideration has a frontage of 330 feet along State Street and 373 feet along Kentucky Street resulting-in an area of 118,230 square feet. At the Board of'Zoning meeting held on November 4, 1965, the staff reported that the proposal is in accordance with the Comprehensive Plan and that the requested rezoning is desirable to permit the development of this portion of the Riverview Industrial Park.
