WHEREAS, the City Architect has requested the City Council to hold
a public hearing to consider any complaints about the expense incurred by
the City of Saint Paul in removing a dangerous structure at 537=9 Carroll
Avenue, more particularly described as: East 40 feet of Lot 19, Block 2,
Wilson's Rearrangement of a part of Marshall's Subdivision of Block 27,
Mackubin & Marshall's Add. to St. Paul; and
WHEREAS, it appears that the last known record owners of the
property are Marie Louise Bruckner, 216 South Dunlap Street; Robert A.
Gearin, Attorney, W -1152 First National Bank Building; Mrs. Edna Ryan,
342 Pleasant Avenue, all of Saint Paul, Minnesota; "therefore be it
RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Saint Paul hold
a public hearing in the Council Chamber at 10 o'clock A. M. on, the llth,-',c
day of December, 1965, to consider any complaints about the expense incurred
by the City of Saint Paul and to confirm the amount thereof; be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Architect notify by mail the
record owners of the property in question at the last known address,
as well as other interested persons of record.

A statement of expense has been filed with the City Clerk on this
date for the purpose of creating a lien on the "property known as

In this matter the following resolutions were adopted by the City
Council:
C.F. 221140, adopted by the Council December 18, 1964 (published
December 26, 1964) set a public hearing at 10 A.M. January 7, 1965.
C.F. 221485, adopted by the Council January 15, 1965 (published Jan-
uary 23, 1965) ordered the wrecking by and at the separate cost
and expense of the owner, occupant, or other person in control
thereof.
C.F. 222096, adopted by the Council February 26, 1965 (published
March 6, 1965) directed the Commissioner of Parks And Recreation
And Public Buildings to enter the premises and wreck and remove
the fourplex thereon, and do any and all things therein necessa-
ry for the protection of life, limb, and. adjoining property.
C.F. 223199 adopted by the Council April 30, 1965 (published
May 1, 1965 approved the specifications prepared by this office
for the wrecking of this building and authorized the Purchasing
Agent'to advertise for bids.
C.F. 223578, adopted by the Council May 21, 1965 (published
May 22, 1965), approved the award of the contract for wrecking
to A. Kamish Company for the sum of $2,150.00 in accordance
with specifications and Formal Bid No. 1266.

C.F. 225410, adopted by the Council September 29, 1965 (published
October 2, 1965) provided that the wrecking expense of $2,150.00
and expense of the Department of Parks And Recreation And Public
Buildings in connection with the condemnation in the amount of
$84.66, making a total of $2,234.66, be paid 'out of Wrecking
Buildings,- Demolition 0976 -256, and in the event said sum
proves collectible from the owner,. same is to be credited to
this fund.
The building has been satisfactorily wrecked and a Registered
Bill mailed to the owners.

Council to hold a public hearing to

ture at 153 West Kellogg Boulevard,
described as Easterly 37 feet of part
South of Alley, Lot 8, Block 16, Rice
and Irvine's Addition to Saint Paul,
the City Council held a public hearing
on September 29, 1964 to consider the
expense and to confirm the amount
thereof, and .
Whereas, It appears that the City
Council, pursuant to C. F. No. 219888,
approved September 4, 1964, published'
September 42, 1964,, set a public hear-
ing to consider removing the dangerous
structure, and the City Council by
C. F. No. 220402, approved October
20, 1964, published October 24, 1964,
ordered the wrecking by and at the
separate cost and expense of the
owner, occupant, or other person in
control thereof, and the City Council
by C. F. No. 220793 approved November,
24, 1964 published November 28, 1964, ,
directed the Commissioner of Parks
and Recreation and Public Buildings
to enter upon the premises and wreck
and remove the structure thereon and
do any and all things therein necessary
for the protection of life, limb and
adjoining property, and that the City
of Saint Paul has incurred the expense .

Resolved, That we, the Cityy Council
of the City of Saint Paul, do hereby
confirm the amount of $1,681.17 to be
the fair, true, and reasonable amount
for such services incurred in removing
the dangerous structure; and be it
Further Resolved, That the City
Clerk be directed to file in the oSide
of the Register of Deeds for the County
of Ramsey a statement of expense
incurred by the City for the purpose
of securing a lien on the property,
pursuant to the. Building Code, Sec.
1.07 of the St. Paul Legislative Code.
