WI�R�AS� on Sunday August 8� 1965� a fire occurred on
property located on the South 100 feet of Lot 28 and all of Lot 27�
Block 2� Kern' s Addition to Saint Paul� otherwise known as
391 Selby ,�venue, badly damaging the structure; and
WHEREAS� the City A.rchitect has inspected the building
and by reason of its fire damage found it totally unfit for
habitation or safe use and that the ruins cons�itute a dangerous
condition disrupting traffic along Selby Avenue and interfers
with the use and safety of adjoining property� and recommends
that the ruins be immediately demolished and removed under the
provisions of Section 1.12� subsection 10 of the Saint Paul
_ Legislative Code; now, therefore� be it
��` R�SOLV�D� That the Council concurs in the finding
and recommendation of the City .Architect that the building and
appurtenant equipment is defective and dangerous and that in
order to preserve the life and health of the public and safety
of adjoining property the Commissioner of Public Safety is
direc�ted to tear down any defective or dangerous wa11 or
structure or any part thereof� in accordance with the pro-
visions of Section 1.12� subsection 10 of the Saint Pau1
Legislative Code� to the extent necessary to protect the life
and health of the p�.blic and safety of adjoining property.
