RESOLUTION ACCEPTING AN OPPORTIINITY GRANT
FROM THE METROPOLITAN COUNCIL
FOR THE LOEB LAKE SMALL AREA PLAN
WHEREAS, the City Council on June 25, 2003, by Resolution Number 03-591, authorized the Director of
the Department of Planning and Economic Development to apply to the Metropolitan Council for a Livable
Community Opporhxnity �ant to conduct a small area plan far the Union Brass/Loeb Lake site; and
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council approved a$62,000 grant from its Livable Communities Opportunity
Grant Program; and
WHEREAS, the Metropolitau Council requires a$1.00 to $1.00 match for their grant, which the City will
provide in the form of City staff time from the departments of Planning and Economic Development, Public
Works, and Parks and Recreation; and
WHEREAS, the Mayar, pursuant to Section 10.071 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paui, does hereby
certify that $62,000 in funds are available for appropriation in excess of those estimated in the 2005 budget
and recommends the following changes to the 2005 budget:

Tfte City of Saint Paul applied far a Livable Communixies Planning Grant from the mehopolitan Council to study the Loeb Lake/Union
Brass azea. The Met Council awazded the grant in Septembet 2003. The goal is to create development scenarios and determine market
interest in the housing and commercial azeas. Three consultanu will be hired using the grany inciuding a civil engineer, an
azchitecUplanning fum, and a mazket reseazch fum.
