WHEREAS, The Minnesota Highway Department is constructing a new
Cretin - Vandalia bridge over Interstate 94, and
WHEREAS, The City of Saint Paul has requested that the new bridge
provide for three traffic lanes in each direction to accommodate the
anticipated heavy volume of traffic at this diamond interchange loca-
tion, and l..
WHEREAS, Under applicable Federal and State regulations the afore-
said bridge widening can be accomplished only if the City of Saint Paul
will construct a comparable connecting roadway within five years, and

WHEREAS, The City of Saint Paul plans to improve Vandalia St. from
.Interstate'94 to University Ave. to provide an adequate arterial street
north of the Interchange; now therefore be it
RESOLVED, That the City of St. Paul will widen and repave Vandalia
St. within the present right of way limits between Interstate 94 and
University Ave. within five years from the opening of the aforesaid
bridge to traffic.
