Due to Hurricane Katrina impacting national resources, federal agencies have requested the State of Minnesota to provide care and shelter for hurricane evacuees from affected areas. The foilowing is ihe texi ofi both of the Govemor's o�cial orders: EMERGENCY EXECUTNE ORDER NO. 05-10 PROVIDfNG POR A DECLARATION OF EMERGENCY I, TIM PAWLENTY, GOVERNOR OF MINNESOTA, by virtue of the Authority vested in me by the Constitution and applicable statutes, here6y issue this Executive Order: WHEf2EAS, Hurricane Katrina has impacted nationai resources and federal agencies have requested the State of Minnesota to provide for the care and shelter for hurricane evacuees from: affected areas; and WHEREAS, the resources of local; county and state governments must be fuily utilized to insurs immediate response to support the care, sheltering and housing of displaced persons as a result of Hurricane Katrina. . . The Adjutant General ofi Minnesota shall order to state active duty on or about September 2, 2005, in the service of the State, such personnel and equipment of the military forces of the State as required, and for such period of time as necessary to support the reiocation.and hoilsing of individuais and famiiies arriving in Minnesota. 6. The Adjutant General is authorized to purchase, fease or contract goods or services necessary to accomplish the mission. Ttre costs of subsistence, transportation, fuel, pay and allowances of said individuals shail by defrayed from the generai fund of the State, as provided for in Minnesota Sfatutes 2004, Sections 192.49; 192.52, 192.54 and 192.55.
