RESOLUTION
CITY OF�SAINT PAUL, MINNESOTA
To Co-name Kaufman Drive in honor of Mas Metzger
WHEREAS, Mas Metzger has conducted a pops orchestra at the Como Pavilion on summer Sunday
afternoons for over 55 years; and

WHEREAS, Mas has worked even longer with the Saint Paul Opera Workshop, that was started by his
mother Mady in 1938; and
WHEREAS, Ma�c has been an institution to Twin Cities live music and to Saint Paul as a whole since his
family moved from Germany in 1930; and
WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul has requested that his contributions be memorialized by the City of
Saint Paul through the naming of Kaufinan Drive in his honor; and
WHEREAS, Kaufinan Drive runs within Como Park from Lexington Parkway N. to the Marjorie Mc
Neely Conservatory;
Now, therefore, be it resolved, that Kaufinan Drive is hereby co-named Mas Metzger Way, and that
appropriate street signage should be placed by the Deparhnent of Public Works.
