PAUL FoENC1L NOS iflJi , y� OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK COUNCIL RESOLU TION—G§NE PRESENTED / TE RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Saint Paul, that official recognition concerning the extensive contributions to the furtherance of the public welfare by John G. Ordway is hereby taken and recorded; his outstanding and meritorious career as one of the city's most renowned leaders of its business community and a well -known figure in the city's civic and business affairs termin- ated upon his demise on Wednesday, January 19, 1966; at the time of his death, John G. Ordway was a member of the board of 3M Company and chairman of the board of Crazie Ordway Company, one of the trustees of the Ordway Trust, and a graduate of the Saint Paul Academy and Yale University; Mr. Ordway joined his fatherts company after his graduation and worked there-'for 50 years;'he became president and district manager of the company in 1947; he was a renowned and avid sportsman throughout his life, and his contribu- tions to civic affairs were considerable; be it FURTHER RESOLVED, That the Council, on behalf of each of its members and on behalf of the citizens of the City of Saint Paul, hereby extends to Mr. Ordwayts wife, Charlotte, to his son, John G. Ordway, Jr., to his daughters, Mrs. Thomas Irvine, Mrs. Craig Wallace, Mrs. Jack Wright, and Mrs. Tassos Fonduras, and to other relatives and friends, condolences and the city's expression of deepest sympathy at the loss of this most estimable-and- renowned citizen of. the- City-of Saint Paul; and be it FURTHER RESOLVED; That-the City' -Clerk is directed to cause copies of this Resolution to be prepared and delivered to members of the family of the deceased with all convenient speed.
