PAUL OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK COUNCIL RESOLUTION — GENERAL FORM COUNCIL FILE NO WHEREAS The City Planning Board was established pursuant to Ordinance lumber 4025 passed by the Council March 8, 1918, and has been known as the City Planning Board to the present date, and WHEREAS, The Minnesota Legislature, during the 1965 session, passed an act relating to municipal planning and development which is designed'to provide municipalities with a single body of law, affecting all municipal planning and,-- development; and WHEREAS, the new statute known as Chapter 670, Laws of 1965, repeals all prior Minnesota Statutes relating to planning and zoning authority for cities of the first class and refers to planning agencies created by municipalities as "Planning Commission" rather than Planning Board, and it appears advisable to have the planning agency of the City of Saint Paul coincide with the terminology of the new statutes; now therefore be it RESOLVED, That the Corporation Counsel is directed to prepare an ordinance to change the name of the Planning Board established by Ordinance Number 4025, as amended, to the Planning Commission of the City of Saint Paul and provide that any references to the Planning Board include the term "Planning Commission" so as to conform with Chapter 670, Laws of 1965.
