THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAINT PAUL DOES ORDAIN: Section 1. That Ordinance No. 6446, approved January 23, 1925, as amended, be and the same is hereby further amended by striking out Division 3 of Subsection C of Section I, and by substituting in lieu thereof the following: 113 Appointment to the position of Civil Engineer I may be made at any of the salary steps A through F in the Standard Range prescribed by Ordinance N ..6446 for the class; provided, however, that if appointment is made at a salary step higher than the appointee could have attained if his employment in positions outside the City service equivalent to Civil Engineer I had been in such position in the City service, all other employees holding the title of Civil Engineer I in the City service shall be given credit, for the purpose of salary increases, of. six ,months,._ (1040 hour's) forL each salary -step that the new appointee was started above the salary step he could have attai.ned.as set forth above. 11 . Section 2. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force thirty days after its passage, approval, and publication.
