L -6666 CONTRACTOR Pgldil & Sons, Ing, PROJECT DFSCRIPT \In accordance with Section 95 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, the Commissioner of*Public Works has agreed with the Contractor that the basis of payment and prices for items listed in the changes described below, not otherwise included in the contract, are the reasonable costs of those i ems for additions to,or deductions from,the contract. This project could not be started as soon as originally contemplated since the closing of Pelham Blvd. had to tie co- ordinated with the progress of other street work by the City and by the State Highway Department, and because the construction'of Pelham Boulevard late in the season might result in additional delays and inconvenience to the people and business establishments on Pelham Blvd., this construction was deferred until the spring of 1965. The Contractor claims additional labor costs for work done in 1965 due to wage increases granted for 1965 over 1964 and additional costs due to increases in workmens compensation, public liability and property damage insurance costs. The net increase in,labor costs alre computed at 5.56% of the 1965 payroll expense as follows: $24,198.00 @ 5.56% $1,345.41• Additional insurance costs 230.98 l 1 •• ,$19576439, It is hereby mutually agreed that the contract amount shall be increased by $1,576.39 as compensation in full for extra labor and insurance costs not expected at the time bids for this project were opened.
