RESOLVED, That the Council hereby approves the award of the Purchasing Committee
therefor, and hereby awards contract for furnishing and delivering to the Water
Department, Saint Paul, Minnesota, approx. 3350 Lin. Ft. of 16" and approx. 5000
Lin. Ft. of 72t1 Cast Iron Water Pipe, mechanical joint, Class 150 with all necessary
fittings and appurtenances, to UNITED STATES PIPE & FOUNDRY COMPANY in accordance
with City specifications therefor hereto attached and the Formal Bid #1583 of said
United States Pipe & Foundry �ompany for the total contract price of approximately
$3+,830.50 (Board of Water Commissioners reserving the right to increase any
individual item of the Materials of the Contract by an amount not to exceed twenty -
five per cent of the quantity indicated for each item) such bid being the lowest and
said United States Pipe & Foundry Company being a reasonable and reliable bidder and
the Corporation Counsel be and hereby is directed to draw up the proper form of
contract therefor, and the proper City officials hereby are authorized to execute
said contract on behalf of the City of Saint Paul.
