PAUL COUNCIL . 2 NCIL NO _ OFFICE OF THE CITY LERK COUNCIL SSO' L UTI ON -G ERA PRESENTED BY ACOMMISSIONS / T ' I �2 WHEREAS Secti on 18.022 of Minnesota Statutes 1965 au- thorizes municipalities, including the City of Saint Paul, when recommendation therefor has been received by such City from the' Commissioner of Agriculture of the State of Minnesota, to ap- propriate money for the control of insect pests, plant diseases, bee diseases, and destructive or nuisance animals; and 1 WHEREAS, such letter dated August 15, 1966, addressed to the Honorable Thomas R. Byrne, Mayor of Saint Paul, has been received from Mr. Russel G. Schwandt, Commissioner, Minnesota Department of Agriculture,) approving the City's plan and program with respect to control of Dutch Elm Disease; and- WHEREAS, Section 18.022 of Minnesota Statutes 1965 further provides that in-order tol defray the cost of the aforementioned activities the City may levy a special tax of not to exceed two mills in any year in excess of its Charter millage limitation, but not in any event of more than 50: per capita; now, therefore, be it 1 RESOLVED, That the Council of the City of Saint Paul hereby determines that within the aforesaid limitation a budget of $123,642.00 as recommended by the Commissioner of Parks and Recreation and Public Buildings is hereby approved and adopted by the Council, and the Council hereby levies a tax in the amount of $124,878.00, including estimated shrinkage; and be it FURTHER RESOLVED, That the County Auditor is hereby requested to spread such tax levy as a separate item in said City's tax rate and to report the same asia separate item in each tax settlement to the City of Saint Paul; and be it COUNCILMEN Yeas Nays j CarlsonQ�"f'FcOVED Dalglish Holland �+poration u�Set Meredith Tn Favor I Peterson Tedesco Against Mr. President, Byrne Adopted by the Council 19— Approved 19— Mayor 22 ORIGINAL TO CITY CLERK ;-�• 230067 CITY OF ST.
