Whereas, Deductions which might prove to be necessary in the Improvement described
as the Carroll - Wheeler Storm Water Relief Sewer, Comptroller's Contract L -6839, Hurley
Construction Company, Contractor, have been provided for in the Specifications, and
Whereas, This contract provides for street restoration by placing 4k inches of Class 5
aggregate in the upper part of the sewer trenches with the re- oiling to be done by city
forces, and
Whereas, The Oiling Division plans to restore the streets by scarifying and shaping the
full street width in order to obtain a more satisfactory surface, they request that the Class
5 aggregate be eliminated from the contract and the equivalent cost be deducted from the
contract and be made available to the Oiling Division for obtaining and placing suitable
aggregate as required for the full street restoration, and
Whereas, The Class 5 aggregate will be eliminated and the cost thereof deducted from
the contract in accordance with the fixed unit prices, and
Whereas, It has been found necessary to make the following Deductions:
DEDUCTIONS
Excavation 4k" deep - 9100 sq. yd. @ $0.17 = $1,547.00
Class 5 aggregate q" deep - 9100 sq. yd. @ $0.45 = 4,095.00
Total Deduction = $5,642.00
and
Whereas, The total deduction is $5,642.00 and the Commissioner of Public Works has
agreed with the Contractor that the amount of $5,642.00 is the correct sum to be deducted
from said contract; therefore be it
Resolved, That the City of St. Paul through its City Council approves the foregoing
deductions made in accordance with the Specifications in the sum of $5,642.00,said amount
to be deducted from the lump sum consideration named in the contracts known as Comptroller's
L -6839, and which amount is to be credited to the Oiling Division of the Department of
Public Works for street restoration.

agreed with the Contractor that the amouni of 05,642.00 is the correct sum to be deducted
from said contract; therefore be it
Resolved; That the City of St: Paul through its City Council approves th6 foregoing
deductions made in accordance with the Specifications in the sum of $51)642.00 said amount
to be deducted from the lump sum consideration named in the contract, known as Comptroller's
L- 6839; and which amount is to be credited to the Oiling Division of the Department of
Pubiia Works for street restoration.
