WHEREAS, in the matter of the construction of an Ornamental
Lighting System on SHORT LINE ROAD from St. Clair Avenue to
Jefferson Avenue, Comptrollerls Contract L- 6696 -3, Collins
Electrical Construction Company, contractor, the specified
date of completion is October 23, 1965, and
WHEREAS, the work was prosecuted in a diligent manner, the
Contractor experienced considerable delay aw&itirng the con-
struction of the curbing pursuant to a paving contract awarded
to others, in order for him to construct the light standard
bases at a proper elevation, which has resulted in his not being
able to complete his work by said completion date, therefore be
it
RESOLVED, that the proper City Officers be and they are hereby,,
authorized and directed to execute an amendment to said contract
extending the completion date to SEPTEhBER 10, 1966, provided
however that this resolution shall have no force or effect unless
the sureties on the contractor's bond consent thereto and file
such consent in writing withthe City Comptroller; and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City of Saint Paul hereby waives all
claim for liquidated damages and that no engineering and inspection
costs on this project will be charged to the contractor for such
extended period.
