1 WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Pazks and Recreation Commission is hosting a meeting on Wednesday,
2 September 14, 2005 at Harriet Island on the Padelford River Boat at 5�00 p.m., and
3 WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Parks and Recreation Commission has extended an invitation to many
4 groups, such as; the Minneapolis Pazk Board, Planning Commission, Friends of Mississippi, Friends
5 of the Parks, Great River Greening, Ramsey County Park Commissioners, �VIetropolitan Council
6 Parks and Open Space, LCMR, St. Paul Delegation, National Park Service, National Congress, Saint
7 Paul Mayor and City Councilmembers, Audobon Society, Saint Paul Police Chief and Assistant Police
8 Chiefs, Riverfront Boazd members and Como Zoological Society Board members, and
9 WHEREAS, the public purpose of the meeting is to discuss joint interests and cooperation for the
10 benefit of Saint Paul citizenry; and
11 1. Coordinate regional recreation issues.
12 2. Developing working relationships between various citizen and government groups.
13 3. Develop a inter agency collaborative work plan for the upcoming year.
14 4. Discuss specific projects of mutual concern, and
15 WHEREAS, the Padelfrod River Boat will leave promptly at 5�30 p.m. for a river cruise and return at
16 approximately 8-30 p.m., and

WHEREAS, Saint Paul Parks and Recreation is requesting permission to spend $1200 to provide
appetizers for all attendees, and
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that Parks and Recreation is authorized to expend city funds on
appetizers for those in attendance at the meeting.
