I - - RESOLVED, that a public hearing be held by and before the
Council of the City of Saint Paul, in the Council Chamber of the
Court House and City Hall, in said City, as provided in Section 1.07
paragraph 2; St. Paul Legislative Code, on February 15, 1966, upon the
advisability and necessity of repair, replacement, remodeling, or
wrecking and removal of the four story hotel building known as the
Carleton Hotel.on the Northwesterly 85 feet of Lots 1 and 2, Block 9,
Bazil and Guerin's Addition to Saint Paul, according to the plat thereof
recorded in the office of the Register of Deeds of Ramsey County,
Minnesota, also known as 489 -497 Saint Peter Street, because said structure
is reported to be dangerous and unsafe to-life., limb. and adjoining property.

Gentlemen:
The four story hotel building known as the Carleton Hotel at
489 -497 Saint Peter Street, described as Northwesterly 85
feet of Lots 1 and 2., Block 9, Bazeille & Guerin's Addition
has been le t in a dilapidated and dangerous condition on
account of a fire.
It is approximately 90 by 85 by 54 feet. It is now vacant,
and destroyed beyond reasonable repair and it should be
wrecked and removed.
Danger Notices have been posted and the last known record
owner is Abe Sechter, 330 Robert Street, Saint Paul 1.
Kindly set a public hearing date in accordance with Section
1.07 -2 of the Saint Paul Legislative Code -, which section
outlines procedure for condemnation of dangerous structures.
