This is written in response to the application for a
Permit by St. Paul Fire 6 Marine Insurance Company to
construct a 35- car.parking lot on the northeast corner
of Exchange and East Fourth Street described as Lot 7 6
8,.-Block 13, Rice and Irvine's Addition.
This matter was considered at the September 15, 1966
Board of Zoning meeting.- - The staff reported that the
plans meet the design standards and that the Traffic
Engineer has reviewed the plans as to traffic and recom-
mends approval. Therefore, the Board of Zoning recom-
mends approval.
The City Council granted informal approval for this
facility on September 16, 1966.

C. DESIGN STANDARDS: Access will be from an existing parking lot adjoining and one
driveway on Exchange St. The maneuvering area meets the minimum standards.
The parking area will have a bituminous surface and drain to catch basins on
the site. A bumper height fence will enclose the parking area as there are
no required setbacks or buffer areas.
D. FRIBTAGE 6 AREA: 100 feet along Exchange Street and 120 feet along East "Fourth St.
with an area of 12,000 sq. ft.
E. TRAFFIC ENGINEER: Has reviewed the plan and recommends approval.
F. CITY ARCHITECT: Not required.
G. SITE CONDITIONS: Site is vacant and at street grade.
H. AREA CONDITIONS: The area has commercial development with accessory parking facilities
and used for Auditorium parking in the evening.
