U_ ¢ FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Clerk be directed to file in
.the office of the Register of Deeds for the County of Ramsey a statement
.of expense incurred by the City for the purpose of securing a lien on the
property, pursuant to the Building Code, Section 1.07 of *the St. Paul
Legislative Code.

WHEREAS, Robert L. -Ames, the City Architect, having requested
the City Council to hold a public hearing to consider any complaints about
the expense incurred by the City of Saint Paul in removing a dangerous
-structure at 298 -300 North St. Albans Street, more particularly described
.as the west two - thirds of Lot 6, Merriam's Rearrangement of the East 106.55
feet of the East third of Lot 9'Smiths and Lott's Out Lots -, the City Council
held a public hearing on the 14th day of October, 1966, to consider the
expense and to confirm the amount thereof; and
WHEREAS, it appears that the City Council,.pursuant to C. F. No.
224435, approved July 13, 1965, published July 17, 1965, set a public hearing
to consider removing -the dangerous structure, and the City Council by C. F. '
-No. 224960, approved August 20, 1965,'published August 28, 1.965, ordered
the wrecking by and at the separate cost and expense of the owner, occupant,
-or other person in control thereof, and the City Council by C. F. No. 225996,
.approved November 23, 1965, published November 29, 1965, directed the
,Commissioner of Parks and Recreation and Public Buildings to enter upon
the premises and wreck and remove the building thereon and do any and
all things therein necessary for the protection of life, limb and adjoining
property, and that the City of.Saint Paul has incurred the expense of
$769.46 in removing said structure; -and
WHEREAS;�it appears that James Tracy'','600 St. Paul Building,
.6 West Fifth Street, is the owner of the premises; be it

Dear Sir:
Please file a statement of expense in the office of the Register
of Deeds for the purpose of creating a lien on the property known
as A98 -300 No. St. Albans Street, described as the West 2/3 of
Lot 6, Merriamts Rearrangement of East 106.55 feet of East Third
of Lot 9, Smith & Lotts Outlots, Saint Paul, Minnesota. This
property is owned by:
James Tracy, 600 St. Paul Building, 6 W. Fifth St., St. Paul
The expense was incurred by reason of the wrecking and removal of
the dangerous two family frame dwelling therefrom. Following is
an itemized statement of the expenses as per Registered Bill
No. 4 -2722, dated July 6, 1966, copy attached.

We are attaching a copy of Council File No. 230543, ap-
proved by the City Council on October 18, 1966 and published
in the official paper on October 22, 1966.
This has reference to the property at 298 -300 North St.
Albans Street, described as the West two - thirds of Lot 6,
Merriams Rearrangement of the East 106.55 feet of the East
third of Lot 9, Smiths and Lotts Out Lots, owned by
Mr. James Tracy
600 Saint Paul Building
St. Paul, Minnesota 55101
and confirms the expense incurred by the City in the condemna-
tion and wrecking of,the two -story frame two family dwelling
thereon, which amounted to $769.46.
As you will note, the final paragraph of this resolution
directs the City Clerk to file, in the office of the Register
of Deeds, a statement of expense incurred, for the purpose of
securing a lien on the property, in accordance with Section
1.07 -7 of the Saint Paul Legislative Code.

That I, Harry E. Marshall, City Clerk, do hereby make and file
a formal statement of expense incurred by the City of Saint Paul in the
removal and wreckage of a building at 298 -300 North St. Albans Street; des-
cribed as the West 2/3 of Lot,6, Merriam's Rearr. of the East 106.55 ft. of
East third of Lot 9, Smith's and Lotts Out Lots.
STATEMENT OF EXPENSE
Said expense, as hereinabove stated, was incurred by.the City of
Saint Paul.on July 6, 1966, for wrecking and removal of building at 298 -300
