WHEREAS, Section 356 -b of the Charter of the City of Saint
Paul provides for a Commission to be appointed by the Mayor,
subject to the approval of the City Council, which Commission
shall determine eligibles for appointment as Chief of Police
for the City of Saint Paul, and
WHEREAS, There exists a vacancy on said Commission, occasioned
,by the expiration of the six =year term of one of the Commissioners
on June 30, 1966, and
WHEREAS, Mayor Byrne has appointed, subject to the approval
of the City Council, Mr. Michael F:`Ettel, 465 West Wheelock
Parkway, to fill the vacancy; therefore be it
RESOLVED, That the appointment of Mr. Michael F. Ettel for a
six -year term as a Commissioner on the Police Commission, which
term will expire June 30, 1972, be and it is hereby ratified by
the City Council.

I submit herewith for your approval the appointment
of Mr. Michael F. Ettel, 465 West Wheelock Parkway, St.
Paul, Minnesota, as a Commissioner on the Police
Commission, for the six -year term which expires June
30, 1972 .
This appointment is to fill the vacancy occurring
as a result of expiration of. the term of one of the
Commissioners on the 30th day of .June, 1966.
