Ames, the City Architect, has requested the City Council to hold a public hearing to consider any complaints about the expense incurred by the City of Saint Paul in removing a dangerous structure at 397 Toronto Street, more particularly described as Lot 9, Block 18, Thomas Daly's Subdivision of Blocks No. 18 & 31 in Stinson, Brown & Ramsey's Add. to Saint Paul; and WHEREAS, it appears that the last known record owners of the 'property are Rebecca R. Peterson, et al, c/o 717 Margaret Street, St. Paul; Joseph Wallerick, Frank Wallerick, Arthur Wallerick, Emma Crooks, -Mary Pignoon, Gloria Walker, Virginia Walker Leatham, Jay Walker Geister, .and Ruth Walker; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Saint Paul hold •a public hearing in the Council Chamber at 10 o'clock a.m. on the 27th -day of October, 1966, to consider any complaints about the expense incurred by the City of Saint Paul and to confirm the amount thereof; be it FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Architect notify by mail the record owners of the property in question at the last known address, as well as other interested persons of record. AMES, City Architect September 22, 1966 Jam._ , - 445 Cify Hall, 55102 Honorable Council City of Saint Paul Gentlemen: A statement of expense has been filed with the City Clerk on this date for the purpose of creating a lien on the property known as 397 Toronto Street, described as Lot 9, Block 18, Thomas Daly's Subdivision of Blocks 18 and 31 in Stinson and Ramsey's Addition to Saint Paul, Minnesota. This property is owned by: Rebecca R. Peterson, et al, c/o 717 Margaret St., St. Paul Joseph Wallerick- Frank Wallerick Arthur Wallerick Emma Crooks Mary Pignoon Gloria Walker Virginia Walker Leatham Jay Walker Geister Ruth Walker In the matter of condemnation of the dangerous structure thereon,. the following resolutions were adopted by the City Council: C.F. 225317, adopted by the Council September 21, 1965, (published September 25, 1965) set a public hearing at 10 A.M. on October 26, 1965, C.F. 225997, adopted by the Council November 23, 1965, (published November 27, 1965) ordered the wrecking by and at the separate cost and expense of the owner, occupant, or other person in control thereof. f • (Hon. Council) -2- (September 22, 1966) C.F: 226500, adopted by the Council December 29, 1965, (published December ,31, 1965) directed the Commissioner of Parks And Recrea- tion And Public Buildings to enter the premises and wreck and remove the single family dwelling thereon, and do any and all things therein necessary for the protection of life, limb, and adjoining property. The Contract Committee awarded the contract for wrecking to A.Kamish Company for the sum of $345.00, in accordance with specifications and Informal Bid No, 9431. C.F. 229466, adopted by the Council July 13, 1966, (published July 16, 1966) provided that the wrecking expense of $345.00, and expense of the Department of Parks And Recreation And Public Build- ings in connection with the condemnation in the amount of $68.27, making a total of $413.27, be paid out of Wrecking Buildings-Demoli- tion Account 0976 -256, and, in the event said sum proves collectible from the owner, same is to be credited to 0976 -256. The building has now been satisfactorily wrecked and a registered bill mailed to the owners.
