WHEREAS, Robert L. Ames, the City Architect, has requested
the City Council to hold a public hearing to consider any complaints
about the expense incurred by the City'of Saint Paul in removing a
dangerous structure at 1345 Rice Street, more particularly described
as: except North one foot; Lot 20 and all Lots 18 and 19, Block 13,
Hager's Subdivision of. lots 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 14, 15, 16, 17",18"
of Walcotts addition to Cottage Homes; and
WHEREAS, it appears that the last known record owner of the
property is Michael C. Miller, 627 Twelfth Street, Newport, Minnesota;
now, therefore, be it,
RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Saint Paul hold
%a public hearing-in the Council Chamber at 10 o'clock a.m. on the 2.7th day
of Octobfer, 1966, to consider any complaints about the expense incurred
-by the City of Saint Paul and to confirm the amount thereof; be it
'FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Architect notify by mail the
record owner of the property in question at the last known address, as
well as other interested persons of record.

Gentlemen:
A statement of expense has been filed with the City Clerk on this
date for the purpose of creating a lien on the property known as
1345 Rice Street, described as Except North one foot; Lot 20 and
all Lots 18 and 19, Block 13, Hager's Subdivision of Lots 1, 2,
39 4, 5, 6, 79 14, 15, 16, 17 and 18 of Walcott'-s Addition to
Cottage Homes in Ramsey County, Minnesota
This property is owned by:
Michael C. Miller, 627 Twelfth Street, Newport, Minnesota
In the matter of condemnation of the dangerous structure thereon,
the following resolutions were adopted by the City Council:
C.F. 225738, ado ted by the Council October 27, 1965, (published
October 30, 1965T set a public hearing at 10 A.M. on November 23,
1965.
C.F. 226065, ado ted by the Council November 30, 1965, (published
December 4, 1965 ordered the wrecking by and at the separate cost,
and expense of the owner, occupant, or other person in control
thereof.
C.F. 226497, adopted by the Council December 29, 1965, (published
December 31, 1965) directed the Commissioner of Parks And Recrea-
tion And Public Buildings to enter the premises and wreck and
remove the one -story single family dwelling thereon, and do any
and all things therein necessary for the protection of life, limb,
and adjoining property.

The Contract Committee awarded the contract for wrecking to A.
Kamish Company for the sum of $350.00, in accordance with specifica-
tions and Informal Bid No. 9448.
C.F. 229472, adopted by the Council July 13, 1966, (published
July 16, 1966) provided that the wrecking expense of $350.00,
and expense of the Department of Parks And Recreation And Public
Buildings in connection with the condemnation in the amount of
$74.20, making a total of $424.20, be paid out of Wrecking Build-
ings- Demolition Account 0976 -256, and, in the event said sum proves
collectible from the owner, same is to be credited to 0976 -256.
The building has now been satisfactorily wrecked and a registered
bill mailed to the owners.
We are rbquesting that you hold a public hearing with ten dayst
notice to consider any complaints about the expenses incurred,
and to confirm the amount.
