Ames, the City Architect, has requested the City Council to hold a public hearing to consider any complaints about the expense incurred by the City of Saint Paul in removing a dangerous structure at 132.Granite Street, more particularly described as the West one -half of Lot 4, Block 4, Edmund Rice's Second Addition to the City of St. Paul; and WHEREAS, it appears that the last known record owner of the property is Julius F. Kuether,c %6 Herbert Kuether, Route #1, Faribault, Minnesota, and the contract purchaser is Frank J. Medema, 319 Forest Street, Saint Paul, Minnesota; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Saint Paul Mold a public hearing in the Council Chamber at 10 o'clock a.m. on the 27th day of October, 1966, to consider any complaints about the expense incurred by the City of Saint Paul and to confirm the amount thereof; be it FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Architect notify by mail the record owner of,the. property in question at the last known address, as well as other interested persons of record. AMES, City Architect 445 City Hall, 55102 September 23, 1966' Honorable Council City of Saint Paul Gentlemen: 304 A statement of expense has been filed with the City Clerk on this date for the purpose of creating a lien on the property known as 132 Granite Street, described as the West one -half of Lot 4, Block 4, Edmund Ricets Second Addition to .City of Saint Paul, Minnesota. This property is owned by: Julius F. Kuether c/o Herbert Kuether, Rte.l, Faribault,Minn. Contract Purchaser: Frank J. Medema, 319 Forest St., St.Paul In the matter of condemnation of the dangerous structure thereon, the following resolutions were adopted by the City Council: C.F. 225736, ado ted by the Council October 27, 1965, (published October 30, 1965 set a public hearing at 10 A.M. on November 23, 1965. C.F. 226068, ado ted by the Council November 30, 1965, (published December 4, 19655 ordered the wrecking by and at the separate cost and expense of the owner, occupant, or other person in control thereof. 1 C.F. 226498, adopted by the Council December 29, 1965# (published December 31, 1965) directed the Commissioner of Parks And Recrea- tion And Public Buildings to enter the premises and wreck and remove the one -story single family dwelling thereon, and do any and all things therein necessary for the protection of life, limb, and adjoining property. (Hon. Council) (September 23, 1966) -2- The Contract Committee awarded the contract for wrecking to A. Kamish Company for the sum of $425.00, in accordance with specifica- tions and Informal Bid No. 9447. C.F. 229468, adopted by the Council July 13, 1966, (published July 16, 1966) provided that the wrecking expense of $425.00f and expense of the Department of Parks And Recreation And Public Build- ings in connection with the condemnation in the amount of $96.54, making a total of $521.54, be paid out of Wrecking Buildings-Demoli- tion Account 0976 -256, and, in the event said sum proves collectible from the owners same is to be credited to 0976 -256. The building has now been satisfactorily wrecked and a registered bill mailed to the owners.
