WHEREAS, The City of Saint Paul has heretofore indicated
its opposition to the petition by the Soo Line Railroad Company
requesting authority to discontinue operation of Passenger Trains
9 and 10, called the "Winnipeger" between Saint Paul, Minnesota,
and Noyes, Minnesota by Council File 221475, adopted January 14,
1965, directing the 6orporation Counsel of the City of Saint Paul
to intervene in opposition to the Soo Line's petition before the
Railroad and Warehouse Commission of the State of Minnesota and
thereafter by Council Resolution 225599, adopted October 19,
1965, directing the Corporation Counsel of the City of Saint
Paul to intervene in opposition to the Soo Liners petition before
the Interstate Commerce Commission; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the City of Saint Paul continue in its
opposition to the suspension of Passenger Trains 9 and 10 and
in affirmance thereof concur in the "Exceptions to Report of
Hearing Examiner" prepared and filed by the.City of Thief River
Falls, Minnesota, and Glenwood, Minnesota, excepting to the
report of the Hearing Examiner, James E. Perron, and the
proposed order which bears -date of service July 5, 1966; and
be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, That the Corporation Counsel of the
City of Saint Paul send a copy of this resolution together with
a letter advising the Interstate Commerce Commission and all
parties of the City of Saint Paul's concurrence in the "Exceptions
to Report of Hearing Examiner."
