RESOLVED, That the proper City officials be and hereby are authozized
to execute the attached option agreement for the acquisition by the
State of Minnesota of the following City -owned land:
Those portions of Blocks 9 and 15, Battle Creek Heights Plat 2,
Ramsey County, Minnesota, according to the plat thereof on file
and of record in the office of the Register of Deeds in and for
said county, which lie easterly of a line hereinafter designated
Line "A" and described as follows: Beginning at a point on the
east line of Section 2, Township 28 North, Range 22 West, distant
700 feet south of the northeast corner thereof; thence run westerly
at right angles with said east section line for 75 feet; thence
run northwesterly to a point on the north line of said section,
distant 130 feet west of'the northeast corner thereof and there
terminating, also that portion of said Block 9 which lies wes-
terly of heretofore described Line ",A" and northerly of the follow-
ing described line: Beginning at a point on the north line of
said Section 2, distant 600 feet west of the northeast corner
thereof; thence run southerly at right angles with said north
section line for 30 feet; thence run southeasterly to.the point
of intersection with heretofore described Line "A ", said point
of intersection being 130 feet southeasterly of the north line
of said Section 2 (measured along said Line "A9 and there
terminating; excepting therefrom a strip 1 foot in width which
lies within a distance of 1 foot northerly and northeasterly
of the southerly and southwesterly boundary of the above described
tract containing 1.23 acres, more or less; together with all right
.of access, being the right of ingress to and egress from the above
excepted 1 foot strip to Trunk Highway No. 94, except that the
abutting owner shall retain the right of access southerly of a
point distant 300 feet south of the northeast corner of said Sec-
tion 2, (when measured along the east line of said section) and
westerly of a point distant 300 feet west of the northeast corner
of said Section 2 (when measured along the north line of said

Subject: State Highway Department Option
Resolution is attached authorizing proper city officials to execute
an option to the State of Minnesota, Department of Highways, for the
acquisition of city lands located in the vicinity of the southwest
corner of Burns Avenue and McKnight Road.
This land was retained by the City from the old workhouse farm sale
in 1962 for the specific purpose of the future Highway Department
needs.
The monies collected from this sale are to be credited to the
Detention Commission Receipts Account No. 3070.
