PAUL COUNCIL NO.— OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK FILE C UNCIL R SOLU I N —GENE OR PRESENTED BY n COMMISSIONE L n -- `., T.� YZ,.eiO 229' RESOLVED, That the Council of the City of Saint Paul, -in behalf of itself and all the citizens of said City, hereby commend and take official cognizance of the highly meritorious and generous - action of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Peters, distinguished citizens of this community, in graciously allowing the public to view their fine collection of art now on display at the Saint Paul Art Center, and commend also the officers of said Saint Paul Art Center for their part in such exhibition; Mr. and Mrs. Peters have been collecting fine art for some twenty years, and their collection -reflects diverse interests and contains pieces ranging from the _15th to the 20th centuries, paintings of old masters and impres- sionists, sculpture, carpets, porcelain, and silver ware; the _collection is most impressive and comprehensive; be it further RESOLVED, That while,Mr. Peters is intensely devoted to art, his contributions to the commonwealth of this community, his renowned leadership in the business community and in the City's civic and sports affairs have inumed to the benefit of the citizens of Saint Paul; be it further RESOLVED, That the citizens of this community who have .not taken advantage of their opportunity to view this fine collection .are urged to join the many of their fellows who have done so, while the Saint Paul Art Center is privileged to have the collection on display; be it further RESOLVED, That the City Clerk be and is hereby directed to cause an engrossed copy of this Resolution to be prepared for presentation to Mr. and Mrs. Peters.
