WHEREAS, The United States Department of Health, Education and Welfare did establish a.
"Maternity and Infant Care Project and
WHEREAS, The Commissioner of Public Safety acting through the Deputy Health Officer of the
Bureau of Health did make application for a grant under the above named program; and
WHEREAS, Said grant was approved by the Federal Governmental and the State Department in
the estimated amount of $300,671; and
WHEREAS, Said grant includes funds for such itms as transportation for mothers and family
caretakers during the absence of the mother from the home; and
WHEREAS, Said program, while administered by the Bureau of Health�is a joint project of
the Saint Paul Ramsey Hospital and Family Nursing Service in cooperation with
the Ramsey County Welfare Department; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Bureau of Health is hereby authorized to provide money for the above
mentioned purposes in amounts to be determined by the Deputy Health Officer or
the Welfare Department; and be it
FINALLY RESOLVED, That to facilitate these payments, the Bureau of Health is hereby
authorized to establish a petty cash fund in the amount of $100.00, to be
charged to special fund -Code 3130 and said fund to be administered by an employee
designated by the Deputy Health Officer. All claims for reinbursement of this
petty cash fund shall be approved by the Health Officer or the Deputy Health
Officer.

Dear Clem:
We will appreciate it very much if a resolution can be passed to estab-
lish a Petty Cash fund in the amount of $100 to be used for payments
to authorized persons who are attending the prenatal and post - partum
and Well -Baby clinics to receive travel expenses, home maker and baby -
sitting costs so that they may be able to attend the various clinics
in cases recommended through our social service.
Funds in the amount of $1,000 are provided in our Maternal and Infant
Care Project jointly administered by the Bureau of Health and the St. Paul -
Ramsey Hospital. The funds for the Petty Cash fund should come out of
Special Projects fund Code number 3130. Please designate Lee Rothenberg,
our timekeeper, to be the supervisor of this fund.
I am enclosing a copy of the Maternal and Infant Care Project which
became effective July 1, 1966 and will continue through June 30, 1967.
You will find the $1,000 authorization fund on Page 2 of the Budget under
Item 9, underlined in red. Additional funds in the amount of $2,500
are also authorized on Attachment A, Part I, Payment for Care, under
III, Item B.
For your information, please note Attachment Ab Part II, Personnel, at
the lower left hand margin of Pao 1 of 2. Tlie'staff is divided into
three catagories. Some are Bureau'of Health, some St. Paul- Ramsey, and
some Family Nursing Service. After reading this project during your
leisure time and find that you need additional information, please call
me.
