So far as we know,
the title of Managerial Assistant to the Commissioner o ar s
and Recreation and Public Buildings is the only title of a City employee for which the
salary is set by a separate ordinance. With the approval of Commissioner Tedesco,
this ordinance would place the title in the Graded Division of the Salary Ordinance
where the other Exempt positions are listed.
This is an emergency ordinance for the reason that the present ordinance establishing
this - position placed it in Grade 72; as of January first there will be four different rates
applicable to Grade 72. It is essential therefore, in order that we know what salary
shall be paid, that s.om -e a,ctiop<be taken. There is not sufficient time to do this
through a re , lar ordinance. ' 1
