WHEREAS, the reconstruction of the Maryland Avenue Bridges over the BN Railroad Tracks
just west of 135E was approved by Council in the 2004 budget as Log #SU-0601157, and

WHEREAS, Public Works has since secured Federal Bridge funding for the reconstruction
of ihe Maryland Avenue Bridges in 2007 so the MSA portion of the funding will no longer
be required, and
WHEREAS, a project to purchase right-of-way for intersection improvements along W hite
Bear Avenue at Minnehaha and Maryland was approved by Council in the 2004 budget
as Log #Sll-5500893, and
W HEREAS, additional funding is needed to purchase the right-of-way necessary to make the
intersection improvements along White Bear Avenue at Minnehaha and Maryland, and to
reimburse the project for the property purchased on the SW corner of White Bear Avenue and
7th Street, and
WHEREAS, acquisition negotiations have resulted in total takes of property that were
originally planned for partial takes, and
WHEREAS, there is sufficient MSA funding available in the Maryland Avenue Bridge Project
and in MSA Contingency to ttansfer into the W hite Bear Avenue at Minnehaha and Maryland
ROW Project, so _
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Saint Paul, upon recommendation
of the Mayor and advice of the Long Range Capital Improvement Budget Committee, that
$1,000,000 is avaiiable for appropriation in the 2004 Capital Improvement Budgets, as heretofore
adopted and amended by this Council be hereby further amended in ihe Improvement
Budgets in the following particulars:
