Inspections have been rriade periodically since September 30, 1965. This is a tWo� story frame, single family dwellirig and there are two accessory building�s. The dwelling is located five feet below the street elevation. It is 30 feet long, 25 feet wid.e,and 22 feet high. Inspection on Noyember 8, 1965 showed the building was ya- cant, open, and severely damaged by fire. EXTERI OR Outside walls ar'e bulging,. out of plumb, and in danger of collapse. BASEMENT It has a partial basement.,. dirt floor. First floor jo�ists were rotting and ih some cases had completely rotted through, shear- ing the j�oists off at the sill joint. Waste lines from bathroom fixtures .bypass the cesspool and empty on a slope of a hill .out- r Pg. 2 side. �asement has been flooded with water. Chimney hangs from w�ll and is not provided with a cle.anout door. S.tairs are in poor condition. FIRST FLOOR ' This floor contains three ro.oms and bath. Living room has in- sufficient ceiling height. Plumbing is in poor condition; sink and bath fixtures are not yented. No sewer connection. No ventilation for the bathroom, as windows opens into another room. Fire damaged. SECO1Vl� FLOOR (tkvo rooms� Walls and partitions and roof are either completely destroyed by ' the last fire or so badly burned it would be practically impossi- ble to� repair. Bedroom has insufficient floor and light area • and the .ceiling height is also insufficient. Plaster is in .poor condition. S.tairs to the second floor were burned beyond repair. ACCESS013Y BUILDINGS There are two qut-buildings on the rear of the lot. One i� a sma11 4 by 5 foot concrete structure that covers a well or cis- tern. At the present time this is dangerous as it is. an attrac- tiye nuisance to children. The hole is deeper than children cah • normally climb out of. There i�s slso an 1�8 by 20 foot frame garage. The framing is two to three feet on center and it has been vandalized vyith the wall sheathing broken and the garage door completely des.troyed. Walls are leaning out of plumb. It is the conclusion of the Bureau. of Public Builclings that by reason o.f inadequate maintenance, dilapidation;. physical damage, unsanitary condition and abandonment that these buildings consti- tute a hazard to public health; safety and welfare. , It is the fUrther recommendation of the City Architect that the Council hold � public hearing at ten o 'clock A.
