THE COUNCIL OF TIi'E CITY OF SAINT PAUL DOES ORDAIN:
Section l. That the Zoning Code� Chapters 60 to 64�
inclusive, of the Saint Paul Legislative Code� pertaining to
Use Districts� Height Districts� and Rezoning of cer�ain pro-
perties in the City of Saint Paul, as amended, be and the same
is hereby further amended so as to rezone the following des-
cribed property from "A'd Residence to "C" Residence District�
to-wit:
Lots 26� 27� 28� 29� & 30 Block 1� Kavanagh and
Dawson' s Addition to the �ity of St. Paul;
si�Guate on property located on the southeast corner of S1oan
Street and �ast Larpenteur Avenue in the City of Saint Pau1.
Section 2. This ordinance is hereby declared to be an
emergency ordinance rendered nece�ssary for the preservation
of the public peace� health and safety.
Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in
force upon its passage� approval and publication.

Dear Sir:
This is written in response to the Petition of Bruce Sanborn to -
rezone from "A" Residence to "C" Residence property located on
the southeast corner of Sloan Street and East Larpenteur Avenue,
described as Lots 26, 27, 28, 29, � 30, Block l, Kavanagh and
Dawson's Addition.
At the May 19, 1966 Board of Zoning meeting, the staff reported
that the property has 124 feet of frontage on Larpenteur Avenue
with an area of 24,970 square feet. The area zoning is as
follows: East and South, "A" Residence; West, Commercial. The
area uses are as follows: East, single-family; •South, single- .
fami.ly; West, vacant; North across Larpenteur Avenue in
Maplewood, apparently a new apartment complex. The property to
the west was rezoned to Commercial in 1965 and a gas station is
to be constructed upon it. ,
It was the findings of the Board that it would be reasonable to
rezone the property since it would be a good transition between
commercial use on the west and the single-family use on the east,
and would stem the advance of further Commercial zoning eastward.
Therefore, the Board of Zoning recommends approval of the Peti-
tion to rezone to "C" Residence.
