WHEREAS, Public Works let a contract in 2004 to bury the overhead utility lines along White Bear Avenue firom Larpenteur
Avenue to Hoyt Avenue in conjunction with the werall Riverview Busway/White Beaz Avenue Improvement Pmject
refeieneed as SU-0201121, and
WFiEREAS, a budget o£ $600,000 was appmved to bury the utility lines based on estimates provided by Xcel Energy and
Comcast Cable, and
WfiEREAS, constmetion aetivity to bury the utility lines along White Bear Avenue from Larpenteur to Hoyt was completed in
2004 at an actual cost of $272,680.93, leaving a pmject balance of $327,319.07. The cost savings resulted £rom the utility
companies not having to do the extensive remwals and restorations that were orio nally planned for, and
WHEREAS, Public Works proposes to nse the $327,319.07 balance to extend the limits of the pmjeet and bury the utility lines
£urther south along Wlute Bear Avenue down to Ivy Street, so
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the CouncIl of the City of Saint Paul, upon recommendation of the Mayor and advice of
the Long Range Capital Improvement Budget Committee, that $327,319A7 is available to extend and espand the pmject limits
to include binying the utIlity lines along White Bear Avenue from FIoyt Avenue to Ivy Street, as heretofore adopted and
amended by this Council.
