COMMISSIONE DA�
WHEREAS, The Housing and Redevelopment Authority of the City of St.
Paul, Minnesota has agreed with the Public Works Department that it will .
�"��'� reimburse the City of St. Paul for all costs incurred in constructing said
sidewalks, curbing and sodding of boulevards; and
� WHEREAS, The Public Works Department proposes to accomplish said
, construction work in cooperation _with the District contractor for
District No. ,3 of this City; therefore be it ,
RESOLVID, By the Council of the City of St. Paul, that it hereby
authorizes the Fublic Works Department to proceed with the necessary work
in constructing S ft. sidewalks, curbing and sodding on both sides of
Livingston Avenue from 65 ft. south of the south property line to 100 ft.
north of the north property line of Curtice Street east, by agreement
with the Housing and Redevelopment Authority of the City of St. Paul
upon condition that the Housing and Redevelopment Authority of the City
of St. Paul agrees to reimburse the City of St. Paul for all costs
incurred in the said construction work at the time of its completion;
be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, By the Council of the City of St. Paul that it
hereby further authorizes the Fublic Works Department to construct a
S ft. sidewalk and place sodding on the north side of Curtice Street
east from Livingston Avenue to 150 ft. east and on the south side of
Curtice Street east from Livingston .Avenue to 100 ft. east, said construction
to be accomplished in the same manner herein outlined, and the costs
of said construction to the City of St. Paul to be reimbursed by the _
Housing and Redevelopment Authority of the City of St. Paul; this
resolution to be effective�from and �'after its approval by the Board
• - � of Commissioners of said Housing and Redevelopment Authority.

Gentlemen: �
Transmitted herewith is a certified copy of a resolution of the Authority
accepting your Resolution, Council File No. 227734 providing for the installation
of certain sidewalks, curbs and sodding therein described by the Department of
Public Works under District Contract No. 3, at the Curtice-Livingston Street site
of Low Rent Housing Project Minn. 1-7 upon reimbursement by the Authority. As
these improvements have been budgeted by the Authority in its current operating
budget approved by the Public Housing Administration in the amount of $5,000.00,
the Authority by its Resolution has agreed to reimburse the City its costs under
District Contract No. 3 in an amount not to exceed $5,000.00. The Department of
Public Works has estimated the cost of these improvements at $4,249.38.
By your Resolution, Council File No. 208378 adopted July 31, 1962, a permit
was granted to the Authority to construct slopes in ten feet of the right-of-way
of Livingston Street abutting Project Minn. 1-7. The Livingston right-of-way is
80 feet and the above-referred to improvements will not affect the slopes con-
structed under this permi.t. The permit was conditioned upon the filing of a bond
in the amount of. $10,000 conditioned upon the faithful performance by the Authority
of the conditions. of Council File No. 208378. The Authority is willing to give its
formal guaranty of compliance with these conditions and therefor requests the waiver
by your Honorable Body of this bond, for which the �uthority has been paying an
annual premium, and your authorization for its cancellation. The permit appears to
have been granted pursuant to Section 216 of the Legislative Code, which does not
expressly require a bond, and the Authority therefor requests the action necessary
to effect cancellation of this bond.

RESOLUTION APPROVING CONSTRUCTION OF .
' CERTAIN SIDEWALK AND CURB IMPROVEMENT
FOR CURTICE-LIVINGSTON SITE, LOW RENT
HOUSING PROJECT MINN. 1-7
WHEREAS, the Consolidated Operating Budget for the fiscal year �
ending September 30, 1966, approved by the Housing and Redevelopment Authority
of the City of Saint Paul, Minnesota by its Resolution No. 66-3/30-
provision for the betterment and addition to Low Rent Housing Project Minn. 1-7,
Curtice and Livingston site by installation of sidewalk, curb and sod budgeted
in the amount of $5,000.00; and .
WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul, Minnesota, by its Resolution Council
File No. 227734 hereto attached, did authorize the Bepartment of Public Works to
, undertake the aforesaid improvements in said Reso?ution described, under District
Contract No. 3, let by said City on Pnblid bidding for unit prices, upon condition
of the reimbursement by the Authority for said expenditure estimated by said
Department of Public GTorks to be the sum of $4,249.38.
NOW TI�REFORE, ffi T� RESOLVE� by the Housing and Redevelopment Authority
of the City of Saint Paul, Minnesota that the public improvements described in
Resolution Council File No. 227734 of the City of Saint Paul shall be undertaken
pursuant to District Contract No. 3, of said City at the unit prices therein pro-
vided for and the Authority does hereby agree to reimburse the City its costs
therefor under said Contract in an amount not to exceed $5,000.00.
