This is written in response to the petition of Gearhart-Stieger- _ .
� Ecker Funeral Home to rezone from "B'� Residence�to.Commercial
properties located on the �south side of Lafond Avenue between Dale
and St. Alban's Streefs described as Lots 4 �and 5 and the West 1/2
of Lot 3, Chute Brother's Division #_4, as amended.

At the February 3, 1966 Board 'of�Zoning•meeting, the staff reported
' that the subject property consists of 2 1/2 platted lots. The most
westerly lot is vacant, the middle lot is developed�with a residence,
and the eastem h alf-lot is also'developed with a residence. The
petitioner proposes t,o develop the two westerly full-lots with' a
parking lot for his funeral home. Adjacent, land uses are as follows: "
South, West and North, single and two-family residences; East, along
, Dale Street �ommercial. The surroundirig zoning �is as follows: for a
100 foot depth along�Dale Street, Commercial; to the South 'along
Thomas Avenue, Commercial�; North and West, "B" Residence. •'
. It V�as the findings of the Board that since there is a need for
accessory parking for the funeral home,� it would be reasonable to
rezone�to Commercial for the��purpose� of building a parking lot.
Therefore, the Board recommends approval of the petition to rezone to
Commercial. �
