Frisch to relax the setback requirement on property located at the northwest corner of Pacific Street and Griffith Street des- cribed as Lots 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, in Block 1, in Larkin's Sub- . division of Lots 1 and 2, Block 30 in Suburban Hills, except therefrom that part taken for truck highway to wit: All that part of said Lots 3, 4, � 5 which lies Northerly of the ' following described line: Beginning at the Northeast corner of Lot 12 of Block 1, King's Addition, thence running Easterly to the Northeast corner of Lot 3 of Block l, Larkin's Subdivi- sion. This matter was considered� at the March 17, 1966 Board of Zoning meeting. The staff reported that the applicant wishes to construct some pillars in line with the outside edge of the � two foot roof overhang on the front of the apartment building _ , being constructed on the property. The pi'llars would encroach two feet on the setback. FRISGH Honorable Mayor and City Council City of Saint Paul Court House � Saint Paul, Minnesota Re: Request for Variance Gentlemen: This is to advise that there is presently under construction 14 unit apartment building at 1195 Pacific Street, Saint Paul, and that I have heretofore obtained all necessary municipal approvals including building permit. The building has been located 19 feet from the front line of the property in conformance with the approved plot plan, etc., and required front yard setback. The roof of the premises has a 2 foot overhang and I propose to have pillars located in the front of the build- , ing from the grade to the roof ineeting the outside edge of this overhang. � I am advised by the Building Department that the location of the pillars would constitute an encroachment of 2 feet into the front yard setback and that their Department is not able to approve the same without Council approval to variance. Accordingly, request is hereby made for° a variance permitting the location of pillars on the front of these building premises extending 2 feet into the front yard setback and to be constructed in line with the outside edge of the 2 foot roof line overhang. In connection with this request there is forwarded to you enclosed copies of the approved plot plan and front building elevation. � In that these premises are presently under construction I will appreciate your early attention to processing of this rec{uest.
