WI-IEREAS, Robert L. Ames, the City Architect, having requested
the City Council to hold apublic hearing to consider any comp�.nts about
-� the expense incurred by the City of Saint Paul in removing a dangerous
$tructure a�t 47 �Vest Iowa Avenue, more particularly described as: South
.one-half of vacated alley adjoining and the following: Except Railway
Right-of-t"�ay, Lot 22 and 23, and �all Lots 20 and 21, Block 6, "Merrills
Division of Rice Streets Villas", the City Council held a public hearing
on the 3rd day of hiay, 1966, to consider the expense arid -to confirm the
�amount thereof; and
.�'' iYHEREAS, it appearsthat the City .Council, pursuant to C.F. No.
221011, approved December 10, 1964, published December 12, 1964, set a
.public hearing to consider removing the_dangerous structure, and the City
Council by C.F. No. 221383, approved January 8, 1965, published January 16,
�, �.965, ordered the wrecking by and at the separate cost and expense of
� the owner, occupant, or other person in control thereof, and the City
o Gouncil by C.F. No. 222009, approved February 19, 1965, published February 27,
o � 1965, directed the Commissioner of Parks and Recreation and Public Buildings
j o to enter upon the premises and wreck and remove thebuilding thereon and;
� do any and all things therein necessary for the protection of life, limb
a . and adjoining property, and that the City of Saint Paul has incurred the
� .expense of $265.56 in removing said structure; and �
� WHEREAS, it appears that Samuel B. and Jeanette Lechtman, Endicott
� ,on Fourth Building, Saint Paul, Minnesota, are the owners of the premises;

RESOLVED, that we, the City Council of the City of Saint Paul,
� do hereby confirm the amount of $265.56 to be the fair, true, and reasonable
amoun"t for such services incurred in removing the dangerous structure; and
be it �
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Clerk be directed to file in
• the office of the Register of Deeds fir the Coun�y of Ramsey a statement
of expense incurred by the City for the purpose of securing a lien on the
property, pursuant to the Building Code, Section 1.07 of �the St. Paul
Legislative Cale.

Said expense, as hereinabove stated, was incurred by the City
of Saint Paul on March 3, �966. The authorization for this statement
is given in Council File No. 228463, passed by the Council of the City
of Saint Paul on May 6, 1966, a copy of which is attached and made a
part hereof.
This statement is herewith being filed in the office of the
Register of Deeds for the County of Ramsey, pursuant to Section 1.07,
St. Pau1 Legislative Code, for the purpose of registering a lien in favor
of the said City of Saint Paul. on the land described herein.
