"An ordinance fi.xing the duties and responsibilities
and the minimum qualifications for the various classes of

approved February 13, 1935, as amended.
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAINT PAUL DOES ORDAIN;
Section 1. That Ordinance No.7(i07, approved February 13,

1935, as amended, be and the same is hereby further amended by striking
out the specifications for the title "Civil Service Transactions Clerk", and
by substituting in lieu thereof the f@��.o�b specifications: •

Duties and responeibilii:ies:
Under aupervi.sionp in the Civil Service Bureau, to be respansible
for the checkin� of all CiZy payrolls, the keepin� of personn�l
recorde of all City employees, and the clerical work in con-
nection wi9:h personnel transaction�; and 'co perform related
work as assigned. � .
Examples of work performed:
To check the payrolls of all City employees for compliance with
appropriate ordinances a�d Charter provi;�ions.
To check reports of personnel transactions� su�h as certifications,
appoinl:ments, layo£fs� leaves of absence� reinstatements.,
resignations, transfers, reauctionso salaiy chan�es, e�c. , for
coxnpliance with rules and regulations, and appropriatie ordi.nances
and Char�er pravisions; and to record such transactions.
To keep Civil,Service eligible and reinstatiement registers up to date.
To certify fro�n eligible and reinstatement registers.
` To keep recorda of current and curnulative sick leave of Civil .

High school graduai:ion and five yeare� erperience as a Clerk III,.
at least one year of whicl� must have been in a public personnel

CIVIL SERVICE TRANSACTIONS CLERK
Duties and responsibilities:
Under supervisiono in the Civil Service Bureau, to be responsible
for the checking o£ all City payrolls, the keeping of personnel
records of al.l City employees, and the clexical work in con-
. nection with personnel transactions; and to p,erform ietated
work as assigned. �
Examples of work performed:
To check t-he payrolls Qf alI City employees for compl.iance with
appropriate ordiilances and Charter provisions.
To check reports o£ personnel ttansactions� such as certifications=
