WHEREAS , Leo Laughlin, an employee of the Department of Parks
and Recreation and Public �Bui�.dings , was injured in a third party
accident on July 31, 1963 , while engaged in the performance of his
duties fo� said department; aZd
WHEREAS , the City has incurred �medical expense in the amount
of $1,585.40 therefor, and said employee was disabled by reason of
his injuries , being paid compensation in the amount of $360.00 ; and

WHEREAS , a settlement has been negotiated between said employee
and the other party which provides for a net settlement to the City
of $720. 39 , after costs: and attorney's fees; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the proper City Officers are hereby authori�zed
to accept in full, final. and complete settlement of its claim herein
the sum of� $720 .39 and to execute any necessai^y releases therefor, and
endorse the check of State Farm Insurance _in the amount of $12,000 .00 ;
that of said sum, $720.39 be credited to the Workmen's Compensation
Fund and a draft for the remainder of said sum -be issued to the employee,
Leo Laughlin, and Daniel T. Cody, his attorney.
