WHERERAS, the Ordway Center for the Performing Arts is performing the fifth annual Internationai
Children's Festival from May 31 - June 5, 2005; and
4 WHEREAS, the Ordway Center for the Performing Arts seeks to educate local children in the arts
5 with help of local community centers and artists preparatory to the International Children's
6 Festival; and

S WHEREAS, the Ordway Center for the Performing Arts requests a one-time donation of abandoned
9 bicycles for the children to decorate for the International Children's Festival; and

11 WHEREAS, the 5aint Paul Police Department desires to donate sixteen (16) abandoned bicycles
12 whose approximate value at auction is $490.00 to the Ordway Center for the Performing Arts; and
13
14 WHEREAS, the public purpose of this donation will not only benefit the children performing, but
15 the entire community as these youthful artists bring joy to all who attend; and
16
17 RESOLVED, that the City Council authorizes the Saint Paul Police Department to donate sixteen
18 abandoned bicycles to the Ordway Center for the Performing Arts.
