1 WFIEREAS, one of the pri�ary purpo�s of our Miunesota Constitution is to secure and protect the civil liberties
2 and rights of all our people; and
3 WHEREAS, people of good cvill have different opinions on how znd whether to address the rights and privileges
4 for consenting adult couples who wish to recognize their unions but who have historically not been permitted to
5 many; and
6 WHEREAS, many such couples live in Saint Paul or have families who live in Saint Paul;
7 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Saint Paul goes on record in opposition to a proposed
8 amendment to the Minnesota Constitufion prohibiting marriage other than between one man and one woman ar the
9 equivalentthereof.
