Dear Sir: .
This is written in response to the application of William C. Rascher
for an Appeal to extend the use allowed in a Commercial district to an
adjacent lot which is zoned "A" Residence. The proposed extension of
use is for property on the south side of Page Street between Smith
Avenue and Manomin Street and is legally described as Lot 3, Block 49, •
Banning and Oliver's Addition.
The applicant proposes to construct a three-car garage for night-stor-
age of his plumbing and heati�ng firm's service trucks. '1'he Zoning �
Code specifies that accessory� parking uses must have the same zoning
(in this case Commercial) as the use it is serving. However� the
' Code does allow relief in the form of an extension of use.
This matter was considered at the August 3, 1967 Board of Zoning
meeting, The staff reported tliat the proposed parking area would
adjoin residences only at rear lot lines. The only parking area for
the applicant's commercial vehicles, after hours, is on residential
streets. ,
The Board of Zoning recommends approval of the extension of Commer-
cial use provided•that such use be limited to parking. ,
