WHEREAS, The Committee on Lands, composed of the Mayor, the
Purchasing Agent, and the Commissioner of Public Works of the City
of Saint Pau1, has secured an agreement for the purchase of that
certain property described as follows: ,
The West Thirty-one and 25/100 (W 31.25) feet of the
North Half (N. z) of the East Half (E z) of the East
Half (E 2) of Lot Three� Irvin�s Addition of Out Lots
to the Town of St. Paul, acc. , -
and
WHEREAS, The property described therein is necessary for the
opening and widening of the Arch-Pennsylvania Highway from Lafayette
Road to Payne Avenue, ancl the price at which the property may be pur-
chased is at the total amount of $10,120, a fair and reasonable price
according to the appraisal obtained by the Committee on Lands; and
WI-IEREAS, Said Committee has recommended the purchase of said
property at the price stated above, as evidenced by the letter of
said Committee submitted herewith; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That pursuant to Section 303 of the Charter of the
City of Saint Paul,, the Council of the City of Saint Paul does hereby
authorize the purchase of the land described as:
The West Thirty-one and 25/100 (W 31.25) feet of the
" North Half (N. 2) of the East Half (E 2) of the East.
Half (E 2) of Lot Three Irvine's .Addition of Out Lots
to the Town of St. Paul� acc.
RESOLVED Further that the proper city officials are hereby
authorized and directed to pay to Joseph S. and Genevieve F.
Ferrozzo, vendors of said property, the sum of $10,120, said sum to
_' be paid to the aforesaid vendors from PIR Fund 6000, to be reimbursed
from Bond Fund No. 7200-ST-32, upon their furnishing an abstract of
title continued to date evidencing, good marketable title in

Gentlemen:
The City of Saint Pau1, acting through its Valuation Engineer,
has negotiated to purchase certain property described as follows:
The West Thirty-one and 25/100 (W 31.25) feet of the
North Half (N. 2) of the East Half (E 2) of the East �
' Half (E 2) of Lot Three Irvines Addition of Out Lots •
to the Town of St. Paul, acc.
The owners of the above described lands, Joseph S. and Genevieve
F. Ferrozzo, have accepted an offer tendered them by the City in
the amount of $10,120 as compensation for the sale of the said
land to the City.
This property, including land and buildings, is needed by the
City of Saint Paul for right-of-way for the Arch-Pennsylvania
Highway. In view of the reasonable price for which it can be
purchased, said price being the appraised fair and reasonable
market value thereof, we, the Committee on Lands, do recommend
to the Council of the City of Saint Pau1 that it authorize the
purchase of said land in lieu of condemnation proceedings at
the price of $10,120 as negotiated with the owners. -
