Benson to rezone from "B" Residence to Commercial property located on the - south side of Jenks Avenue between Payne and Greenbrier Streets, described as Lots 9 and 10, Block 17, Arlington Hills Addition. This matter was considered at the July 20, 1967 Board of Zoning meeting. The petitioner wishes to use the property for parking. The property has 80 feet of frontage on Jenks Avenue and an area of 10,000 square feet. The area uses are as follows: Wast and North, off-street parking; East, a heating and refrigerator company; and South, mi.xed residential uses. East and South the zoning is "B" Residence and West and North, the zoning is Commer- . cial. The Comprehensive �lan proposes multiple-familp for the . area. It was the finding of the Board that it iaould be reasonable to rezone the property to Commercial. The property is surrounded on two sides by parking and on a third side by a Light Industrial use. The proposed parking lot would have no detrimental e.ffect on adjacent residential uses since it would have a relationship with residential only at an alley. ��Therefore, the Board recommends that the Petitian to rezone the property to Commercial be granted. Gentlemen: • Enclosed please find a petition for rezoning of the above captioned properties. The petition includes the names of all of the affected property owners within One Hundred (100) feet of the property to be rezoned, and the owners of more tha� two-thirds of said property have executed the petition. Oscar E. Goethe is the owner of Lot twenty (20) in Block seventeen (17) . He does not live on the premises and was contacted by telephone. ��ie is agreeable to the, rezoning but the gentleman who sought to have the petition signed was unable to meet withliim. Mr. & Mrs. Puffpaff are contract purchasers from Vinnette Carlson who is the record owner of Lot twenty-one (21) in Block seven�en (17) . They have executed the petition, and Mrs. Carlson, who does not l�ive on the premises, is also agreeable. The same holds true with respect to IVlr. & Mrs. Mervin C. Anderson who are the owners of Lot twenty=three (23) in Block seventeen (17) . On the telephone Mr: Anderson has given assura�nce he-would sign the petition, but he is in the Real Estate business and each time we have attempted to contact him he has been unavailable in person. It appears that the only persons who are opposed to the petition are the Schulte• family. Only one of the children is living on the premises, and we have not attempted to contact the others . The property was inherited from their parents . Mr. & Mrs. Sperance and Mr. & Mrs . Larkay are indifferent to the proposed rezoning, so we. are informed.
