WHEREAS, The Com¢nittee on Lands, camposed of the Mayor, the Purchasing
Agent, and the Commissioner of Public Works of the City of Saint Paul, has
secizred an agreement for the purchase of that certain property described as
r follows:
West one-half (2) of Sout,�iwest quaxter (SW,—��) of �,ot Four (4) Irvines
Addition of Outlots to �he Town of St. Paul, acc., also, the east
� one-ha.lf of Southwest quarter (E2 of SW,�—�) and the West 40 feet of
the Southeast quarter (SE,�—�) •f,Lot four• (4), Irvines Addition of
Outlots to The Tc�r�rn of St. Paul, acc.
WHEREAS, The properties described therein are necessary for the opening
and widening of the Arch-Pennsylvania Highway from Lafayette Road to Payne Ave-
, nue, and the price at which the properties may be purchased is at the total
� amount of $43;100, 'a faix and reasonable price according to the appraisal ob-
tained by the Coffinittee on Lands, and the owner is to retain and move the dwell-
ing located at 515 North Street; and
WHEREAS, Said Committee�has reco�mmended the purchase of said properties •
at the price stated above, as evidenced by the letter of said Committee sub-
mitted herewith; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That pursuant to Section 303 of the Chaster of the City of
Saint Paul, the .Council of the City of Saint Paul does hereby authorize the
purchase of the land described as:�

RESOLVED Further,that�the -proper city officials �are hereby authorized and
directed to pay to 1�o.se Morelli, vendor of said properties the s� of $43,100,
said sum to be�paid to the aforesaid vendor f'rom PIR Fund 6000, to be reim- "
bursed from Bond Fund�No. 7200-�T-32, upon her flarnishing an abstract of title
and certificate of title continued_to date evidencing good marketable title
in Rose Morelli, and the total payment to be made upon tender by said paxty
of appropriate�rarranty deeds conveying title to said properties to the City

Gentlemen:
The City of Saint Paul, acting through its Valuation Engineer, has
negotiated to purchase certain properties described as follows:
West one-half (2) of Southwest quarter (SW,�—�) of Lot Four
(4) Irvines Addition of Outlots to the Town of St. Paul,
acc. , also, the East one-half of Southwest quarter (E2 of
SW,�—�� and the West �+0 feet of the Southeast quarter (SE,�—�)
, of Lot four (�+), Irvines Addition of Outlots to The Town
of St. Pau1, acc.
The owner of the above described lands has accepted an offer tendered
her by the City in the amount of �43,100 as compensation for the
sale of the said land to the City. The owner is to retain and move
the dwelling located at 515 North Street.
This property, including land and buildings, is needed by the City
of Saint Pau1 for right-of-way for the Arch-Pennsylvania Highway.
In view of the reasonable price for which it can be purchased, said
� price being the appraised fair and reasonable market value thereof,
we, the Committee on Lands, do recommend to the Council of the
City of Saint Paul that it authorize the purchase of said lands
in lieu of condemnation proceedings at the price of $43,100 as ne-
gotiated with the owner.
