From and `after January l, ' . 1968, each uniformed employee of the Bureau of '�'ire Proteetion ' actively engaged in fire fighting shall be entitled to and � given a credit allowance by said Bureau in the amount of $36.00 per year to be used to replace worn items of apparel. Said . allowance shall be accumulative from year to year. , � C � , 204.02, Bud�et Item. Each year there ahall be set � up in the Budget �of the Department of Public Safety, an amount , to be designated as clothing allowance, sufficien� to pay the cost which may be incurred by the Bureau of� Fire Protection under the terms of this Chapter. � i 20�+.03. Accountiri�. The credit accounts of each employee shall be kept by the Fire Chief or persons authorized � by him to perform such funetions . Said accounts shall be � ke�t in a manner consistent with procedures as established by the Comptroller and shall be sub�ect to his inspection. No employee shall receive any credit allowance for any period during which his name does not appear on the payroll of the Bureau of Fire Protection, and a percentage of� the credit corresponding to that period shall be szbtracted from his clothing allowance . ' 20�.O�F. Separation from Service . E�nployees who are - required by law to terminate their employment due to age shall, during the year of retirement, be credited with a monthly amount -- � equal to. 1/12 of the yearly amount, up to the �first day of the � month of retirement . Employees" who retire but whose retirement is no� mandatory and who have for that year used the clothing allowance in excess of that amount which would normally accrue . to them on a monthly basis shall reimburse the City for that portion in excess of the moni�hly credits . i • Section 2.
