FURTHER RESOLVED, Upon the pertinent appeal, under the
Zoning Code� by Salvation Army Booth Memorial Hospital� owner
of the sub�ect real estate� situate in the City of Saint Paul�
. located at the northwest corner of Como and Pascal Avenues
more particularly described as Lots 1 through 7� Block 8� �ake
Park Addition to Saint Paul, partially zoned in "B" Residence
District and partiallp zoned in "C" Aesi�nce District under
said Zoning Code� that the provisions of said 'Zoning G�ode �
- hereby are determined and varied in their application to said
real estate� as and to the extent necessary therefor� and that `

This is written in response to the Appeal to extend a non-conforming
;
use and to the application for a 34 car off-street parking lot by �
the Salvation Army Booth Memorial Hospital on the northwest corner ''
of Como and Pascal Avenues. The property is described as Lots 1 �
through 7, Block 8, Lake Park Addition. �
These matters were considered at the May 4, 1967, Board of Zoning �
meeting. The hospital has been located at its present site since �
1922. In 1922 the property was zoned "B" R�sidence and the Code
allows hospitals only in "C" Residence districts or districts with a �
lower classification. The hospital wishes to extend their present �
non-conforming use by building an addition on the east side of the ;
existing structure. They also wish to build a 34 car off-street �
parking lot to the north and east of the new addition. �
The staff reported that the parking lot meets the design standards �
for this type facility and has the Traffic Engineer's approval. . ;
It was the findings of the Board that the Appeal be granted since
the addition would have no detrimental effect on the are.a. There- ' �
fore, the Board recommends approval of the Appeal to construct the !
addition to the hospital and also recommer�ds approval of the 34 i
car parking lot. ;
