WHEREAS, The Committee on I�ands, composed of the Mayor, the Purchasing
Agent, and the Coumiissioner of Public Works of the City of Saint Paul, has
secured an agreement for the purchase of that certain property described as
foll�rs: �
The west 2 of the southwest ,�—� of Zot 3, Irvine's Addition of
Outlots to the Town of St. Pa.u1, acc.
WHEREAS, The property described therein is necessaxy for the opening
and widening of the Arch-Penns�lvania lii�hway from Lafayette Road to Payne
• Avenue, and the price at which the property may be purchased is at the total
amount of $5,800.00, a fair and reasonable price acco�ding to the appraisal
obtained by the Co�ittee on I,ands; and
WI�REAS, Said Co�nittee has reco�nended the purchase of said property
at the price stated above, as evidenced. by the letter of said Committee sub-
mitted herewith; now, thexefore, be it '
~ ' RESOLVED, That pursuant to Section 303 of the Charter of the City of
Saint Paul, the Council of the City of Saint Pa.ul does hereby authorize the
purchase of the land described as: �
The west 2 of the southwest 4 of Lot 3, Irvine's Addition of
Outlots to the Tawn of St. Paul, acc.
RESOLVED Further that the proper city officials are hereby authorized
and dixected to pay to David B. and Delores M. Baldwin, vendors of said
property, the stun of $5,800.00, said sum to be paid to the aforesaid ven-
dors f'rom PIR Fund 6000, to be reimbursed from Bond Fund No. 7200-ST-32,
upon their f�rnishing an abstract of title continued to date evidencing
good ma.rketable title in David B. and Delores M. Baldwin, and the total
pa,yment to be made upon tender by said pa,rties of an appropriate warranty
deed conveying title to said property to the City of Saint Pau1. •

� Gentlemen:
The City of Saint Pau1, acting through its Valuation Engi-
neer, has negotiated to purchase certain property described
as follows:
The west 2 of the southwest ,�—� of I,ot 3, Irvine's
Addition of Outlots to the Town of St. Pau1, acc.

The owners of the. above described lands, David B. and Delores
M. Baldwin, have accepted an offer tendered them by the City
i.n the amount of $5,800 as compensation for the sale of the
said land to the City.
This property, including land and buildings, is needed by the
City of Saint Paul for right-of-way for the 1Arch-Pennsylvania
a Highway. In view of the reasonable �rice for which it can be
• purchased, said price being tHe appraised fair and reasonable
market value thereof, we, the Cammittee on Lands, do recommend
to the Council of the City of Saint Paul that it authorize the
purchase of said land in lieu of condemnation proceedings at
the price of $5,800, as negotiated with the owners.
