WI�REAS, The Coffinittee on Lands, composed of the Mayor, the Purchasing Agent, a d
the Commissioner of Public Works of the City of Saint Pa.ul, has secured an agreement fbr
. the purchase of that certain property described. as �ollows: _
Those parts of Lots 10, 11, and the northeasterly 2�+.75 feet of Lot 9, all in
Block 3 of Ba,zil and GuerinTs Addition to Saint Paul, which lie within the are
bounded. by the following described lines: Begi.nning at the point of intersec-
tion of the southeasterly line of Block 3, Ba.zil and Guerin's Addition to Sain
Pa.u1, and the easter]�p projection of the southerly line of Block 58, Isvines
Enlargement of Rice and Txvines addition to the tawn of Saint Pa.ul; thence
northeasterly along the said southeasterly line of said Block 3, being the
northwesterly line of� Tenth Street, a distance of 75.64 feet to a point; thenc
i.n a southwesterly direction along a curve to the right with a radius of 200
feet, a central angle of 41°26', and tangent to said southeasterly line of
Block 3 a distance of 144.63 feet to a point on the, southerly line of said
Block 58, being the northerly line of Tenth Street�75.64 feet westerly of the
point of beginning; thence easterly along the said southerly line and the east rly
projection thereof, a distance of 75.64 feet to the point of beginning.
WFTEFtEAS, The property described therein is necessary for the opening and widen ng of
Tenth Street from St. Peter Street to Main Street and the price at which the proper y ma.y
be purchased is at the total a.mount of �2,2�+0.00, a fais and reasonable price accor 'ng
to the appraisal obtained by the Ca�ittee on La.nds; and
� WII�REAS, Sa,id Committee has recomanended the purchase of said property �at the p ice �
sta.ted above, as evidenced by the letter of said Committee submitted herewith; now, `
therefore, be it
RESOI,VED, That pursuant to Section 303 of the Charter of the City of Saint Pa. , the
Council of the City of Saint Pau1 does hereby authorize the purchase of the land de cribed
as:

proa.ch Bond Fund No. 7220 upon its furnishing an abstract of title continued to d.s,te e i-
dencing good marketable title in St. Joseph's Hospital, and the total payment to be ma e
upon tender by said paxty of an appropriate warranty deed conveying title to said pro- •
perty to the City of Saint Paul. ,

The City of Saint Pau1, acti.ng through its Valuation Engineer, has .
negotiated to purchase certain property described as follows:

The owner of the above described lands, St. Joseph's Hospital, has
accepted an offer tendered it by theCity i.n the amount of $2,240.00
as campens�.tion for the sale of the said land to the City.. °
This property, including land and improvements, is needed by the City
of Saint Pa.ul for the opening of Tenth Street f`rom St. Peter Street
to Main Street. In view of the reasona.ble price for t,rhich it can be
purchased, said price being the appraised faix and reasonable market
value thereof, we the Coffinittee on Lands, do recommend to the Council
of the City of Saint Paul that it authorize the purchase of said land
i.n lieu of condemnation proceedings at the price of $2,240.00, as ne-
gotiated with the owner.
