WHEREAS, The Committee on Lands, composed of the Mayor, the Purchasing Agent, a�d the
Commissioner of Public Works of the City of Saint Paul, has secured an agreement for
the purchase of that certain property described as follows: ° , '
Those parts of Lot 1, Block 58, Irvines Enlargement of Rice and Irvines �`
addition to the town of Saint Paul, and of Lot 9 except the northeasterly
24.75 feet thereof, Block 3, Bazil and Guerints Addition to Saint Paul,
which lies within the area bounded by the following described lines:
Beginning at the point of intersection o� the southeasterly line of Block 3
Bazil and GuerinTs Addition to Saint Paul, and the easterly projection of
the southerly line of Block 58, Irvines Enlargement of Rice and Irvines
addition to the town of Saint Pau1; thence northeasterly along the said
southeasterly line of said Block 3, being the northwesterly line of Tenth
Street, a distance of 75.64 feet to a poi,pt; thence in a southwesterly � -
° direction along a curve to the right with a radius of 200 feet, a central "
angle of 41°26' , and tangent to said �southeasterly line of Block 3 a dis- fi
tance of 144.63 feet to a point on the southerly line of said Block 58, r�
being the northerly line of Tenth Street 75.64 feet westerly of the point �
of beginning; thence easterly along the said southerly line and the easterl
projection thereof, a distance of 75.64 feet to the point of beginning.
�' , WI-iEREAS, The property described therein is necessary for the opening and wideni g of
� Tenth Street from St. Peter Street to Main Street and the price at which the pr�perty
may be purchased is at the total amount of $725.00, a fair and reasonable price accor-
ding to the appraisal obtained by the Corrunittee on Lands; and
WHEREAS, Said Committee has recommended the purchase of said property at the pri:ce
stated above, as evidenced by the letter of said Committee submitted herewith; � ow,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That pursuant to Section 303 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul the
Council of the City of Saint Paul does hereby authorize the purchase of the lan�
described as.

RESOLVED Further that the proper city officials are hereby authorized and direc ed
to pay to the Church of the Holy Redeemer, vendor of said property, the sum of
$725.00, said sum to be paid to the. aforesaid vendor from PIR Fund 6000, to be
reimbursed from Capitol Approach Bond Fund No. 7220 upon its furnishing an abst act
of title continued to date evidencing good marketable title in the Church of th
Holy Redeemer, and the total payment to be made upon tender by said party of an
appropriate warranty deed conveying title to said property to the City of
Saint Paul.

Gentlemen:
The City of Saint Paul, acting through its Valuation Engineer, has
negotiated to purchase certain property described as follows:

The owner of the above described lands, the Church of the Holy ,�
Redeemer, has accepted an offer tendered it by the City in the
:amount of $725.00 as compensation for the sale of the said land
to the City. -

This property, including land and improvements, is needed by the
City of Saint Paul for the opening of Tenth Street from St. Peter ,
Street to Main Street. In view of the reasonable price for which
it can be purchased, said price being the appraised fair and •
reasonable market value thereof, we the Comrriittee on Lands, do
recommend to the Council of the City of Saint Paul that it autho-
rize the purchase of said land in lieu of condemnation proceedings
at the price of $725.00 as negotiated with the owner.
