05-170Council File # �j`�1� Presented Green Sheet # �a 5� �p RESOLUTION CITY OF SAINT PAUL, MINNESOTA � 3 Resolution Supportireg the Efforts of the BZue Green AlZiance to Promote PubZic Transportation, Renewab[e Energy Development and High Performanee Buildings I WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul has a history of promoting public transit in the City, and has as one of its top 2 2005 legislative priorities to support efforts to obtain funding for transit in the Central Comdor; and 3 VJHEREAS, the City and its business partners like District Energy haue a commihnent to renewable energy and 4 continue to reseazch and pursue options to increase our renewable generation and reduce pollution; and 5 WHEREAS, the City is making a stronger commitment to high performance buildings through initiatives at the Port 6 Authority, in housing and the most recent addifion to the City-owned building stock with the newly opened Como 7 Visitars Center; now, therefore be it 8 RESOLVED, that the City of Saint Paul supports the efforts of the Blue-Green Alliance to seek state bonding for 9 transit projects in the metro area, and be it 10 FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City of Saint Paul supports the efforts of the Blue-Crreen Alliance to promote 11 legislation that would diversify the state's energy sources tt�rough guidelines for increasing renewable generation 12 and the promotion of state and local policy innovations that link clean energy and job creation; and be it 13 FTNALLY RESOLVED, that the City of Saint Paul supports the Blue-Green Alliance's concept of incentives 14 for high performance commercial buildings.
